A Night at the Carnival...
A favorite night of summer happened last Friday night at our annual Sturgis Falls celebration. The kids and I were bored late Friday afternoon and decided to take a spontaneous stroll downtown to see the rides and maybe get a funnel cake and some cotton candy. But when the kids spotted their cousins across the way, also there checking out the rides, there was just no turning back. We made a night out of it, the kids riding for two hours before we took a break and walked across the bridge for burgers and beers at Toads. And then it was back for more rides under a dark sky, all the glow lights lighting up their smiling faces. Charly smashed Cruz like a pancake on the Sizzler leaving them in a fit of giggles, Mila and Harper did the bouncy house forty-five times, and the sweet guy working the Ferris Wheel left the big three wide-eyed and mesmerized. Just like a night at the carnival should do.
