How far along? 39 Weeks
Total Weight Gain? 29 pounds I think…it’s all starting to run together!
Maternity Clothes? I’m officially out of options. Even though the weather is getting cooler, I keep rocking my summer wardrobe…I refuse to buy a pair of maternity dress pants this late in the game. I’m still wearing my summer flats, but by the end of the day, my swollen feet are half in, half out.
Sleep? I think God knows I need as much sleep as I can get right now. I’ve been sleeping so well lately…going to bed is one of my favorite parts of the day!
Symptoms? My energy level is definitely a roller coaster. Monday night, I was a machine; Tuesday, a zombie. My feet and ankles are swollen by the end of the day; however, nothing terrible. Baby J is officially out of room…when he moves, I can actually make out his body parts. I’ve also had lots of Braxton Hicks, especially after my appointment today. He’s definitely dropped; however, as far as labor signs go, not a whole lot to record!
Cravings? This week, my menu has consisted of Instant Breakfast, lasagna, and apple crisp!
Best Moment This Week? I spoiled myself with a pedicure yesterday after work. I’ve never felt so deserving of one in my life! My feet were swollen, my toe nails were disgustingly long, and the massage chair put me to sleep!
Least Favorite Moment This Week? The thought of planning for another week of school! I didn’t exactly plan on going past my due date!
What I Look Forward To? Going into LABOR and having this BABY!
Weekly Wisdom? Ivory soap under the covers! It’s brilliant! My friend, Amy, recommended this after I was complaining of terrible middle-of-the-night leg cramps. Pop a bar of Ivory under your fitted sheet at the end of the bed and let it work its magic…I haven’t had a leg cramp since!
Milestones? My last appointment before I’m ‘overdue.’ Next Wednesday’s appointment will be one day past my due date! Will I make it to then?!?!?!

NINE MONTHS
How far along? 36 Weeks
Total Weight Gain? Who’s counting?!?!
Maternity Clothes? I’m struggling. I hate dressing for work. Nothing is cool enough, nothing is comfortable enough, and nothing is dressy enough. If I avoid the mirror, I feel like less of a blimp.
Sleep? No complaints. Now that school has started, I’m exhausted at night!
Symptoms? Lots of new symptoms this week. My belly itches like crazy, I’ve been having lots of (what I think are) Braxton Hicks contractions, gas pains, and some lower back pain. This morning, I felt really funny and wondered if I was going into labor. I have a feeling I’m going to feel like that every time I experience something a little different. It’s crazy because I have no clue what labor feels like. Although I am getting close, there could realistically be five weeks left of this kind of wondering…it could be a long month!
On top of all the late pregnancy symptoms, I am dealing with a sore throat, stuffy nose, and extremely hot classroom. I’ve never been so excited to see a high temperature of 69 degrees tomorrow! I’m more ready for fall weather than I’ve ever been before!
Cravings? McDonalds milkshakes. I’ve had two this week. The later I get into this pregnancy, the less I care about calories, cholesterol, and fat.
Best Moment This Week? My palm tree!
Least Favorite Moment This Week? Well, Tuesday night was anything but glorious. I wallowed in my own pregnancy pity party. Wednesday, however, was a better, brighter day, and I was ready to conquer pregnancy head on!
What I Look Forward To? This cold going away…
Milestones? Braxton Hicks contractions make me feel a little closer to the real deal. Is it weird that I’m a little excited to see what labor is all about?!?!

Thirty-two...
How far along? 32 Weeks
Total weight gain? 17 pounds
Maternity Clothes? Yes…but I’m approaching my last week of summer ‘comfy’ clothes. Seven weeks of work clothes here I come!
Stretch Marks? No
Sleep? Sleep is getting more and more uncomfortable. Lately, I’m down to one side. I can’t sleep on my back or stomach, and when I sleep on my left side, I get a pinched nerve in my arm. This morning, I woke up feeling as though I went on a three-day bender.
Meanwhile, Beau has developed a snoring issue. I’m not sure whether he’s always snored and I’ve slept through it, or he’s picked it up as a pregnancy symptom of his own. Either way, I’ve been very tempted to plug his nose in the middle of the night several times.
Symptoms? HEARTBURN! Haven’t been able to find any relief mechanisms either. Sometimes Tums work, sometimes milk, but most of the time, I barrel through until bedtime. I’ve never had heartburn until pregnancy, and I’ll be more than ready to see it go after this baby’s here!
After telling my mom about my heartburn issues, she mentioned it to a friend of hers. Her reply was, “What has she been doing? Eating tacos for dinner?” Funny she should mention that, as last week I ate tacos for about four meals in a row. My goal was to kill the leftovers, not create a black hole in my chest! Sorry to say I haven’t had tacos for three days and the heartburn has yet to give up!
Best Moment This Week? I booked belly shots for next week. I contemplated whether I wanted to do this or not, but thanks to one of Beau’s high school friends, I was referred to a talented photographer from the Jesup area (thanks Jen!). I’m hoping for good weather and a good ‘belly’ day!
Least Favorite Moment This Week? Tuesday was probably my most uncomfortable day since being pregnant. After an unfortunate night’s sleep, it seemed like every muscle and joint in my body was out of place. My back hurt, my neck hurt, and my heartburn was outrageous!
Gender? BOY!
What I Look Forward To? Celebrating my last birthday without someone to help me blow out the candles. I’m not sure what we’ll do, but I think it might involve a buffet of never-ending crab legs!
Weekly Wisdom? Chiropractor?
Milestones? Baby J is busy training for his first marathon, aka, delivery. He’s been flexing his muscles quite often, otherwise known as Braxton Hicks contractions. He’s also sucking, breathing, and swallowing…all very important skills to master before he’s ready to come out!
