Cruz: You are smack dab in the glory days of these holidays, complete with school parties and parades, a surprise cold lunch from yours truly, and a full night of trick-or-treating with Dad. You joined the McGeough boys across the street and stayed out much longer than I expected. You came home with red cheeks, a pumpkin full of candy, and a grin as wide as our lit up cul de sac.
Mila: While the boys were trick-or-treating, we had the sweetest night passing out candy to all our beggars. You turned into this mature little lady, sitting quietly on the bench in the mudroom, just waiting to hear footsteps on our porch. Then you sprang into action, opening the door with your basket of candy and greeting costumed kids with the warmest "Happy Halloween" in your little voice. You'd pass out candy one by one, then leave them with a personalized farewell every single time. Then, you'd close the door and say things like, "They were so nice," or "They were cute," just as a little old lady would say. It was a Halloween memory I won't forget.
