Summer Vacation 2018 || The Day I Decided I Was a Kayak Person

Vacation posts are dragging on, especially now that school has started and this July vacation seems centuries away.  But oh to sink my toes in that sand and let that cold, clear Lake Tahoe water take my breath away again.  This was definitely my favorite day in Tahoe, just us four camping out at King's Beach, counting to five before letting ourselves go all in under those crisp waters, throwing the frisbee to the square we make, and somehow feeling more clean and more refreshed coming out of the lake than we did before going in.  Mila seriously killed me and everyone at the beach with her little throwback polka dot one-piece and beach hat, and Cruz was the brave one, the first to head in and the last to come out.

And then we spent the better of our morning in kayaks and all was as it should be.

We got back to our resort in the afternoon and had some time to kill before getting ready for dinner.  We practically had the pool to ourselves and the kids swam like the fish they've learned to be this summer.  Mila mastered jumping in the 3 1/2 foot, and Cruz relaxed in the hot tub he loved.

We took the shuttle bus into town for dinner, choosing a little street-side brewery for wings and brews before a sunset walk along the lake.  And these pictures and the sweet way they are with each other - melts me to the core.

Just one more day left!
