Our Hawaiian Paradise || Part 4

We spent another night in Hanalei Bay, driving as far north as the road would let us and hanging out with the surfers in this hip little island town.  The vibe in Hanalei is pretty great.  It's basically one stretch of open-aired restaurants, shops, and food trucks.  There's a river flowing through it, lush green mountains in the background, and a large public beach at the end of the road.  It's laid back, chill, and the perfect place to spend a date night.

We were craving pizza, but before that, we had been in Hawaii nearly three days and had yet to have some shave ice.  For those of you who aren't familiar, shave ice is a Hawaiian staple.  Our closest thing is probably Tropical Sno, but most Hawaiian shave ice stands serve fresh, organic juices, and top their shave ice with cream and sometimes, macadamia nut ice cream.  I did my research, let me tell you, and Wishing Well shave ice was one of the top on my lists.  And it did not disappoint.

After filling our bellies, we walked down to Hanalei beach to watch the sunset.  This beach was busier than our quiet Secrets beach from earlier in the day, but I liked the energy and excitement that seemed to exude from this place.  And the surfers just sitting in the wake as the sun went down and cast that golden glow on the water?  Only in Hawaii.

We ended the night with more wine by the fire at our home away from home, this time sharing our property with some new house guests, although we wouldn't see them until morning.
