Thanksgiving Memories, Part 2
After hosting Thanksgiving at our house on Thursday night, the rest of our weekend is a slow drip of a familiar rhythm we've come to love about Thanksgiving weekend. It includes Black Friday shopping in my pajamas on the couch, usually with a cup of coffee, leftover piece of pecan pie, and a well-detailed list of Christmas gift ideas and shopping deals I've been storing away for weeks.
It includes Thanksgiving leftovers. I go for the side dishes, Beau goes for the leftover turkey and a more creative turkey taco with cranberry chipolte salsa.
It included the start of all things Advent and a day to prep sweet devotional journals for our family study.
It included our favorite booth at Wilbos for burgers, milkshakes, and Pass the Pigs while we awaited Santa's famous arrival on Main. It started drizzly and cold and by the time Santa arrived, it was pretty much a washout. But we stayed warm inside this little restaurant that makes us feel like we're in the middle of a big city - until we spot our cousins across the street... ;)
It included another cold and rainy Saturday and an afternoon with Mila while the boys cheered on the Panthers to a victory in the first round playoffs. Us girls stayed inside and played Calico Critters, colored in Mila's favorite "Mommy and Me" coloring books, and watched Fuller House for the fortieth time.
It included board games! Our favorite right now is Disney Codenames. Highly recommend this one under your Christmas tree!
And it included our first of many Christmas movie nights. We started with a favorite - Home Alone and a "lovely cheese pizza" picnic in the living room. We let Cruz call in the pizza, but he froze when the guy asked for a coupon code. He did however yell, "Keep the change ya filthy animal" to our sweet delivery girl just as she was getting in her car. Good thing we left her a good tip. ;)
