Christmas Day in Photos

Christmas morning - is there really anything better?!  We've developed a great rhythm around here.  We sleep in, move the furniture, build four forts of presents on all four corners of the room, and drag the morning out as long as possible.  There's even brunch in between!  And then when it's all over and our living room is full of tissue paper and new gifts to love on, we sit in all, drink coffee slow, and soak up all the joy.  

This year, Miss Mila decided to sleep until 8:00!  So while it seemed like the rest of the world was hours in to their Christmas morning, we weren't even started yet.  And the first thing she did?  Get a piece of paper and make a card for the little elf friend she already missed.

And lots of pictures of two happy kids!  Mila received an American Girl doll that looks a lot like her, Cruz got a watch that records his steps, allows him to text me important things like, "your farts smell like pecans," and make sound effects like, ahem, fart noises.  So there's that.  And I got a big blanket from my thoughtful husband.  A blanket so big that all four of us can fit under it no problem.  A blanket that at first felt too big in every sense of the word but has now easily become our favorite snuggle device in the house.  Sometimes, Beau just knows.  We also bought each other the same book AND the same sweatshirt which is just funny because I swear the longer you are married the more you start to morph into the same person.

Then we threw on our matching sweatshirts and headed to Hampton to celebrate Christmas with Beau's family.  It was a wonderful Christmas day!
