Our third day in Jamaica was more of the same. Our favorite pancakes and smoothies for breakfast, walks on the beach to visit with some locals, lots of swimming, and another beautiful sunset on the beach. The kids got to spend some of their spending money on the beach, each buying a shell straight from the reef outside our resort and some beaded jewelry in the colors of the Jamaican flag. We also had some fun doing "Art with Clive" right on the beach, the kids each creating some pretty sunset paintings on a piece of bamboo. One of the highlights of our resort was definitely all the activities they had for the kids to do. Oh, and the jerk chicken hunt right beside the kid's activity hut. ;)
One of my favorite memories from this particular day involved the little "secret" place the kids found when exploring with Beau one afternoon. There was this beautiful area in the middle of the resort with a great big tree that looked straight out of the Jungle Book. The tree created a canopy and underneath were two hammocks and a little picnic table. We spent many afternoons hiding from the hot sun here, playing another round of Pass the Pigs or UNO. On our second to last day, we made plans at breakfast that we each got to decide something we definitely wanted to make happen that day. Cruz wanted to play some beach volleyball. Mila wanted to do arts and crafts on the beach. I wanted to eat at the cute little outdoor wood-fire pizza joint for dinner. And Beau - he wanted to take a nap with his kids in the secret place under that Jungle Book tree.
So together, after another full day in the sunshine, the three of them snuggled up in a hammock and took a nap together. It was pretty sweet.
Pictures from another good day.
