One last Jamaica post. It was all bittersweet to leave this place. We were ready to begin our long journey home (at this point just hoping we'd make it home), but also pretty certain we were going to be entering a new world when we got there. We soaked up all our favorite things about this place and made such special memories together.
Including getting this girl's hair braided!
Thankfully, we had a direct flight home from Jamaica and had a seamless trip home. But my goodness did we return to what felt like a completely different world. We didn't get into Minneapolis until after 7 at night and the airport was a literal ghost town other than two other international flights returning the same time we were. We had left our car at a park-and-fly hotel near the airport and they were no longer offering shuttle service when we returned. We had to call a cab which took forever. Minneapolis looked like the set of a post-apocalyptic film. The Mall of America was dark without a single car in the parking lot, the interstate was empty, and world just felt like it was holding its breath. We were all hungry and quickly realized our only options were drive-thrus. But it felt SO good to be in our car and in control of our surroundings! We got home late, slept good, and prepared to unpack and stay put for weeks to follow.
Our Jamaica tans did indeed fade, but I have a feeling our memories of this trip won't! But in case they do, I'm hoping this little video helps refresh a little of the fun we had amidst a global pandemic.
Love these pics!! What a beautiful place!! Video is so great!! Watched it twice!
