The last two days of our Thanksgiving break flowed pretty much like the rest. Mila and I had a fun few hours downtown for some Small Business Saturday shopping, Mila won her first gift card at our favorite, Driftless Style, and then the boys met us for some burgers at Wilbos in what we are convinced is the best booth on Main Street. It's just got a big city vibe in there, especially at the holidays. We toasted some Shiner Bock Holiday Cheer, played a little UNO, people watched as the sun went down, and then headed home for yet another Christmas movie night.
Then Sunday was our (un)official kickoff to the Christmas season, marked by our annual North Pole Party in which our friendly elf, Boone comes to visit for the month of December. We love this day. He brings us snow-covered donuts and strawberries, the kids open some fun gifts to count down the days of December, and they get their Santa letters all ready to send. I'm not sure how many more years we get of this little tradition, but it seems their "true believer" status is still alive and well.
P.S. If you haven't watched the Christmas Chronicle movies on Netflix, they are worth it. Kurt Russell just may be my favorite Santa of all time.
Cruz got a Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Lego Advent calendar and Mila got a matching pair of pjs for her Bitty Baby.
I also found these little treasures at Target earlier this year and they just reminded me of Mila. I purchased a family of them and wrapped them up with a note that said they were picked especially for her room and must be packed away after Christmas to store up their magic all year. Then the two of us named each of them, and played in her room together. Let's see - we have George and Laura, Dillion, Lola, Queen Margaret, Pearl, Starlight, and Stacy, the saucy dancing sloth.
Love this! Such sweet pictures!! Those pictures of Mila & Bitty in matching jammies!! So precious!! Your North Pole parties are the cutest!!
