Another school year begins today and the kids were up early and ready to go! It's an exciting year for us as Cruz gets to start 2nd grade at a brand new school just up the street from our house. We've been monitoring progress on the building since it was just a big hole in the ground and to see it all ready for the kids last night was pretty neat. And this teacher was geeking out over all the innovative learning spaces. I want to teach there!
Cruz has an amazing teacher, Mrs. Withers, his very own locker, and is pumped about the brand new basketball hoops they just assembled a few nights ago. He's also excited to ride his bike to school some, but it will be awhile before I let him fly solo. I'm already counting down the minutes until I can walk up there and pick him up. I told him he better have lots of news to share about his first day.
Mila starts a big year, too, with all-day preschool and her last year at Blessed Beginnings. She has a new teacher, Ms. Estrada, but is excited to spend another year learning with all the best buddies she's grown up with. And I'm happy to keep her there another year, too. She worked hard on a card for her teacher last night and is excited about her cubbie, the puppet show center, and resting on her Kindermat. ;)
Off they go, taking a piece of my heart with 'em. Happy first day of school, sweet babes.
