Independence Day, cont.

Overwhelming amount of pictures ensue...

We packed sparklers under baby wipes in Cruz's diaper bag.  Dipped perfectly plump strawberries into white chocolate and rolled them in crystallized blue sugar.  Sprinkled red, white, and blue stars over frosted cupcakes, and attempted to keep a plaid hat on a nine-month-old baby.  We sat on handmade quilts, took Cruz on his very first lawnmower ride, attended a lakeside barbecue complete with burgers and brats, potato salad, and blackberry mojitos, and watched a fireworks show reflect in the water below.

It was an All-American weekend complete with family, friends, and fireworks.

These strawberries were a big hit at our backyard barbecue, and so easy to make.

My All-American Baby (who HATES wearing hats)...

A stop at Grandma and Grandpa's house for a bottle and a lawnmower ride.

Lily Kate with a sparkler...

...and her brother, Eli, entertaining us with campfire stories of big fish in bigger ponds...

Not a bad seat for fireworks.

God Bless America and God Bless FAMILY!

  2. Thanks! Sweet Basil Market on Main Street had the sprinkles in lots of different colors. They'd be fun to make for lots of occasions :)
