40/52

"a portrait of each of my children, once each week, in 2014"

Cruz: Our superhero had his 4th birthday party this weekend.  He took it all quite seriously - the superhero training camp games, the presents, his cake and candles, and our very own superhero trivia game, to which his team won fair and square.  One of my favorite moments was his little hand raised high in the air when his daddy asked the secret identity of Tony Stark.  "The Invincible Ironman" he replied confidently.  It was a superhero party personalized just for him and it was so fun creating special little touches I knew he would love.

Mila: We spent most of Sunday in our pajamas, putting together Cruz's new birthday loot, slurping up squash soup, and sprawling out all over the living room, napping, eating leftover birthday cake, and watching football.  Around dinnertime, we decided some fresh air would do us good, so we went to our favorite places to explore as of late.  We stood in our future closets, threw rocks out our picture window, and dreamed about making this new pile of wood our home.  I'll never forget Mila, dressed in last night's pjs with her Minnie Mouse sweatshirt over top, sitting in the middle of our future kitchen.  While she remember this time in our lives, it will be so fun to show her pictures of the house she'll know as home.
