A Sledding Day

We are more than ready for the snow to melt and spring to show its face, but uploading these photos early this morning did bring a big smile to my face.  On what I sure hope was our last snow day of the season, Beau made an announcement over the kids' echos from work one day that left them shrieking from their bedrooms...

"Dad just announced he's coming home early to take us sledding!!!"

Yes, you can use echo dots as loud speakers.  We've discovered several uses out of these tiny little technology devices plugged into the kids' rooms.  So off we went one late snowy afternoon in search of a new and amazing sledding hill.  We had fresh powder, pretty warm temperatures, and a big hill all to ourselves.  We've had years where we questioned whether bundling up and hauling out the sleds would even be worth it with the attention span of the kids, but this year I'm pretty sure they would have stayed out there all night.

I know it doesn't seem like much, but these spontaneous backyard adventures will always be my jam.  These are the memory makers, the moments we feel thick like thieves and on top of the world, or at least a sledding hill.  Their rosy cheeks, their tight grips around our necks, the fact that we all can fit just perfect on a sled, and the fact that we always follow up a good Jorgensen family adventure with tacos?  These are the days that will always be my favorites.
