Corn Dogs, Ferris Wheels, and Cotton Candy Fingers

We checked off one more bucket list item last weekend at our city's annual Sturgis Falls festival.  The moment I saw that Ferris wheel go up just north of Main Street, I knew without a doubt Cruz and I needed a view from the top.  So on a Saturday afternoon, we got our carnival fill.  We waited in line 45 minutes for two corn dogs, slurped down three strawberry smoothies, spent way too much money on ride tickets, and went through an entire pack of hand wipes between the carnival rides and cotton candy that followed.  The kids were both old enough to ride some rides together, maybe for the last year as Cruz wasn't too keen on riding some of the "baby rides" I encouraged him on.  Mila LOVED the cars and choo choo, and Cruz enjoyed the Ferris wheel and bumper cars with Daddy.  After a couple hours, we returned home for long naps before the kids scored a baby sitter and Beau and I scored a night downtown with friends.  It was just enough Sturgis for all of us. :)
