Fourth of July // Take 2
After two late nights in a row, our Sunday was a quiet one, with a visit from Grandma Mary and her sister Becky the highlight of our day. We had pizza at Mulligans, played at one of the kids' favorite playgrounds, and hung out on the deck most of the afternoon, painting some rocks and sharing vacation plans and enjoying the gorgeous weather. With a Monday holiday, the weekend ticked away slowly and it was nice to have a day like this one sandwiched in between. The kids had baths and were tucked in their beds early, ready for a big Independence day ahead...
We woke up to cloudy skies and much cooler than normal temperatures, quite the change of pace from what we're used to on the Fourth of July. I laughed as I threw sweatshirts in the same bag as swimsuits and towels, and wondered which ones we'd get more use out of before the day was through.
