Our European Holiday | Part 3

We spent our last day in London as tourists, once again hopping on the top level of one of London's signature double decker buses and taking in the crisp spring air and all the sights of this charming city.  We traveled from our hotel all the way to the Tower of London and the beautiful Tower Bridge.  I could not wait to see this beauty up close.

We strolled along the river walk amidst bustling crowds, bagpipe players, and several field trips of little French kids in uniforms.  We were hungry, so grabbed a pizza lunch in a little cafe along the river before this time hopping on a boat to bring us back to our side of the city.

The river cruise gave us wonderful views of London, including Shakespeare's Globe Theater and the Shard, the tallest building in London.  Then we walked through Hyde Park back to our hotel to get ready for our last night, and a trip to an area of the city we had yet to see.

Our last night, we joined some friends for a night in Piccadilly Circus, an area often referred to as London's version of Times Square.  The moment we turned the corner to the big circular junction, filled with lit-up billboards, street performers, and lots of people from every corner of the world, I was hooked.  The lights, the energy, and the possibility seeped from this place and I loved it.  Although I could never live in a city like this, I'm starting to think they're my favorite kind of place to visit.

We found a pub in Chinatown for some appetizers, then hurried to the Lyric Theater for a night with Michael Jackson.  It's funny that the show Thriller Live is only on stage in various countries in Europe, but it was wonderful!  Two hours of Michael Jackson's music, with incredible dancing, vocals, and a reminder of his talent and influence.  It was the perfect way to end the first half of our London adventures!
