I have few words tonight, but LOTS of pictures to describe this blissful weekend @ home.
It started with a blustery cold Friday night, a quick stop at Hy-Vee for some necessary provisions, and a big pot of my favorite butternut squash soup.
After a yummy supper and an early bedtime for one tired little boy, Beau and I nestled under a trunk-ful of blankets and got lost in Season One of Game of Thrones. I am officially hooked.
Saturday morning came with a bowl of oatmeal, a handful of fresh blueberries, and a new pair of pirate pajamas.
Saturday morning also came with a bowl full of homemade cookie dough. My little pirate got his first taste of the sweets and was instantly a fan (as you can tell by the look on his face).
And I learned, if you give a little pirate some cookie dough...
...you'll need to follow with a good soak in the bathtub.
And that soak in the warm tub will probably lead to one tired little guy.
After that, he'll be rested up and ready to do some baking...
Chef Cruz...
And after all that rolling, and patting, and cutting...
...he'll develop quite an appetite...
...he'll be sure to try out that pink frosting---to make sure it is just right...
And after frosting...
And sprinkling,
...and perfecting,
...he'll determine a job well done!
Tomorrow is a day to celebrate love. I think I can handle that.
Cruz, Grandma loves your new pirate pajamas!! You are quite the little cookie baker! Happy Valentine's Day, Sweetie!!
