844. The most beautiful weather lately, calling us to all the adventures outside. Picnics at the UNI prairie with my favorite tag-a-longs.
845. More flower bouquets picked before dinnertime, my favorite capri blue volcano scented candle, the windows open and breeze coming through.
846. A weeknight trip to the drive-in. It's been on our summer bucket list for three years and we finally made it happen. We made a bed in the back of the truck with our air mattress, ate pizza and played UNO while we waited for the movie to start, and snuggled up with popcorn, our little FM radio, and the Lion King. It was even fun when it rained for a bit, we all crowded in the back seat and watched through an open window as Simba returned home to defeat his evil uncle. I'm all for those reclining dream loungers and surround sound theater screens, but boy was it fun to step back in time to the "good ole days". We're going to make this an annual summer adventure, and I told Beau we may have to make it a date night sometime. That way we can make out in the back seat. ;)
847. That day when neither one of them had a friend to play with and they had a ball just the two of them, jumping in the deep end and racing down all the slides together.
848. Lemon bars to share with friends celebrating and going through all the things.
849. Our first sweet corn of the season, grilled burgers, and juicy watermelon. You can't get much more Iowa than that!
850. And lastly, our little t-ball sprout. More to come on her season, but had to post a few from her first game as a Cub. She's got a good swing and can sure run fast.
