Baby Girl's Nursery

I wanted to share some pictures of the little lady's room while it quietly and anxiously waits for her to move in.  I walk in multiple times during the day just to feel her pink chamois sheet or run my hand along all the washed clothes hanging in her closet.  For both babies, this has been my favorite room of the house - such a calm, serene little escape that represents that unique peace of all things newborn baby.  And while soon we will make our way through that white onesie drawer faster than I remember and wash poop stains off her brand new changing pad, I savor these last few days of this quiet room I've personalized for her.

While Cruz's nursery was inspired by a line of surf-shack bedding and accessories from Pottery Barn Kids, baby girl's nursery is a mixed bag of unique items I've been collecting since this summer.  From an old trunk I scored at a flea market for $15 and repainted pink, to our Ikea spice racks turned book shelves, I'd like to think I've been deliberate about choosing some inexpensive items while splurging on a few things as well.  A Jorgensen redo would not be complete without a couple of handmade items, too, in addition to the crib, dresser, and changing table Beau and his dad built when I was pregnant with Cruz.  One of my favorite things in her nursery are the doll house shaped shelves Beau worked very hard on.  They are modeled after this set from Restoration Hardware, but cost pennies to put together.

So without further adieu, welcome to our newest baby's space...

Her crib accessories include three of my favorite things: her story mobile from Ferm Living, and her handmade doll and pillow from Etsy.  I didn't order a bedding set this time around, but found a quilt just perfect for the colors I was going for this summer.  The Pottery Barn Kids chamois sheet is BY FAR one of the best items you can bless your baby with - if only they made them in adult sizes.

I made the pom pom garland by hand using pink and cream chunky yarn from the fabric store.

This trunk was my $15 find from a flea market this summer.  It was painted a bright green originally, but I couldn't resist a pop of pink after finding out she was a little girl this fall.  I want to fill the trunk with sweet stuffed animals along the way.

The ladder, aka, blanket rack was purchased at a local craft store, and I ordered a bunch of these $3.99 spice racks, er, book shelves from IKEA and added a little pink to the sides.

This is my third string of lights I've purchased from Etsy shop, Bubblewish.  They are made so well and they add the perfect ambience to any room at night.

Aden and Anais muslin blankets have to be one of my most favorite blankets for baby.  Lightweight and long enough for a really good swaddle.

A room in my house wouldn't be complete without some sort of collage wall for pictures.  I spent a lot of time trying to decide what to frame on her wall and wanted a mix of pictures of us and her, as well as keepsake prints with a special meaning behind them.

This Bible verse print was made by Printable Wisdom, a custom print-at-home Etsy shop.  I used the same Bible verse I read the morning I found out I was pregnant with her - a verse that now holds lots of special meaning for our family and our story.

This sweet print was also found from Etsy shop, Honeycup.

A growing collection of hair accessories and a succulent for some color.

I found her owl lamp at Hobby Lobby and the antique bird cage and doily at a flea market this fall.

The dollhouse shelves Beau made for his baby girl.  Modeled after Restoration Hardware's 'much more' expensive shelves, these were built, painted, and assembled by Beau.  I wanted a pop of color on the back piece, but after deciding against painting them, we stuck pieces of scrapbook paper to the backs with double stick tape.  This way, I can change the color or pattern as our little one grows.  Now I'm on the hunt for some little knick knacks to add to them.

That's it for now!  I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about colors or purchases - just leave a comment or send an email.
