I love those few really special moments in life that God gives us. Those once in a lifetime moments where you feel something you’ve never quite felt before. I remember feeling it the night Beau proposed. Downstairs in his duplex, candles lit, Shrek on the big screen (it’s a long story). The whole entire world just kind of stopped in the middle of our little moment. I don’t really remember what Beau said, but I will never forget how I felt.
I remember this same moment when I was about two minutes away from walking down the aisle with my dad. After a complete whirlwind of wedding planning (19 months to be exact), it all came down to that moment. Everyone had proceeded to make their way down the aisle and I was left with my arm clenched tight around my dad’s. The whole entire world just kind of stopped in the middle of our little moment.
Last night was definitely one of those moments. I had thought about it all day. What I would say, how he would react, how things would change from that moment on.
He thought it was an ordinary date night. A little shopping, a nice dinner, a late-night movie... but in the cold car on Jan. 30th, he opened a card.
“Beau…we’re having a baby.”
The whole world just kind of stopped in the middle of our little moment.
